The Link Series 1 fountain pen, produced in 1001 pieces, numbered 0001 to 1001, can be used with an ink pump or with Caran d’Ache cartridges. The rhodium-coated, 18-carat gold nib . Each writing instrument is delicately numbered on one of the leaves of mother-of-pearl. The rhodium-coating on the metal elements of the writing instruments gives them a wonderful sparkle and provides excellent protection. This rare metal, particularly difficult to extract, is some three time more expensive than gold.
